No great pix here, just memories of a great late September day above the clouds on Mt. Marcy.<\/p>\n
Hiking up the trail you’re working your way through a lot of damp mist starting just before the Indian Falls cut-off.\u00a0 You figure on not getting much a view from the top once you get there, but you’ve already come so far (and your gear is already damp from the mist) so why not just keep going?<\/p>\n
Then the sun starts to come out and you decide the day is clearing.\u00a0 Once you hit the tree line you realize the clouds are still there, you’re just above them now!<\/p>\n
The guys in this picture are enjoying a beautiful day on the summit of Mt. Marcy.\u00a0 Not so much for those who climbed other peaks to the west!<\/p>\n

In the view below, you can see Mt. Colden (closest peak with the slides on its east side) and beyond it Algonquin, Boundary and Iroquois (Wright Mt. is in the clouds).<\/p>\n

Those clouds won’t give up!\u00a0 Below you can still see Mt. Colden, but old Algonquin is just managing to keep its head above the clouds.<\/p>\n
